I have just wasted the last couple hours trying to discover just what the warranties I purchased actually covered. After another hour on hold, I gave up and continued unsuccessfully to search the website. After sifting through all the offers to upgrade or extend my warranties and service plans I came up with...Nothing.
I did get a chance to read the accidental breakage service plan though. Its a good read...When I was done, I realized, as I should have expected, they promise you nothing. You can't sue them in court if they don't fix the computer. You waive any and all damages arising from the broken computer or its broken promise to fix it. At most, you may be able to return your computer for a full refund. Though I'm not even sure about that. Oh, and after you go through all the expense of hiring an attorney, or take the time out to fight yourself, legal fees aren't even required. What a great business model!!!!

I got my DELLinquent computer 6 months aqo. Straight away would not boot properly or accept any usb or printer connections (rang dell was told to find upgrades on internet and download them and fix it myself) I am not very computer literate so i didn't know what to do.No problem within a week whole computer crashed. Another call to some Indian call centre i ask for my next day fix tech to come out told NO i have to sit and try to fix it myself while he instructs me what to do. He couldn't fix the problem so he made me reboot to how computer was delivered. Problem solved? No not with a DELL Hard Drive crashed within 3 days another call to Bombay finally send TECH next day he replaces Hard Drive with knew one and leaves. Now computer is not how it was delivered to me there is no software installed, i install all discs they sent but some of the software i paid for is missing call again told download yourself if you can i can't help you. Now after 6 months of problems & phone calls and frustration the computer tells me several days later i don't have a DVD/CD drive anymore.Ifeel totally ripped of and deserted by DELL in Australia they have no stores you can go in now i know why. Can someone tell me if i can return it or someway i can get DELL to cough up some kind of free voucher or item for this paperwieght they call a computer.
You are right on that note. i spent more than an hour trying to download a software from their support centre. one might wonder if it is software or hardware that i was downloading.
Even Google was not helpful to me. I would say all is fair that is fair.
